SUMMARY:Songwriter Sanctuary
DESCRIPTION:Doors open at 6:30pm\, show starts at 7pm \nThe last Friday of each month we host a concert with three local musicians that perform in our 100 year old acoustically blessed sanctuary. Each artist takes a turn performing their original song and a story to go with it\, before passing the torch to the next musician. Some artists are old friends\, others are meeting for the first time. With seating in the round\, and musical stories about all the highs and lows of life – It’s a beautifully intimate night with all the feels. \nTo be candid\, this is completely “secular music.” We don’t really subscribe to that terminology\, and think all expressions of art are blessed and should be celebrated. Still\, being hosted at a church there’s bound to be assumptions – and we want you to know there’s no clergy or even church staff involved in the selection of artists or content for the evening. All choices for the artist lineup are made by Lindsay White\, a wonderful friend who isn’t a member of our church – who finds community and fellowship among local musicians. Whatever talent\, stories and expression our musical guests have to share is theirs to put into the world – and that’s their sacred right. DESCRIPTION:We have a new three part group series in June\, led by Kristi Kincheloe in the Social Hall. All are invited to participate\, and there’s no book to purchase. We ask that you sign up online to receive weekly reading selections that we’ll be discussing. The group will meet on Sunday\, June 7\, 14\, & 28th (skipping Father’s Day 7/21). \nIn a world that bombards us with content & opinions\, spiritual direction is a time to pay attention to what is happening in us\, and for our stories to be heard and held with prayerful attention. \nJoin spiritual director Kristi Kincheloe for three informational sessions that will explore: \n\nWhat is Spiritual Direction?\nWhat skills & perspectives help us companion each other well in Christian community?\nOne model for Group Spiritual Direction.\n\nIn a perfect world\, spiritual direction is what we would all offer each other. \n\n\n\n\nKristi’s own experience of receiving spiritual direction continues to be a transformative aspect of her life. She has been studying and offering spiritual direction since 2020. Kristi holds an MA in Educational Ministries from Wheaton College\, a Graduate Certificate in Contemplative Spiritual Direction from Mount Saint Mary’s University\, a Certificate in Group Spiritual Direction from Stillpoint\, is a Facilitator in Training in The Compassion Practice with Beloved Compassion Network\, and is currently pursuing a Certificate from the Center for Engaged Compassion in Compassion-Based Spiritual Direction using Internal Family Systems. Kristi also provides retreat facilitation and contemplative practices. Kristi’s takes great joy in providing opportunities for people to deepen their connection with the Sacred.

At Blind Lady\, they let people seat themselves at long picnic tables\, so don’t worry about who you’re sitting with or reservations. \nThey have a kid-friendly environment and great pizza\, salads\, frites\, sodas\, and ales. This is a free charity event which includes interactive experiences\, a surfing contest\, and live music (including Switchfoot and friends!). DESCRIPTION:We have a new three part group series in June\, led by Kristi Kincheloe in the Social Hall. All are invited to participate\, and there’s no book to purchase. We ask that you sign up online to receive weekly reading selections that we’ll be discussing. The group will meet on Sunday\, June 7\, 14\, & 28th (skipping Father’s Day 7/21). \nIn a world that bombards us with content & opinions\, spiritual direction is a time to pay attention to what is happening in us\, and for our stories to be heard and held with prayerful attention. \nJoin spiritual director Kristi Kincheloe for three informational sessions that will explore: \n\nWhat is Spiritual Direction?\nWhat skills & perspectives help us companion each other well in Christian community?\nOne model for Group Spiritual Direction.\n\nIn a perfect world\, spiritual direction is what we would all offer each other. \n\n\n\n\nKristi’s own experience of receiving spiritual direction continues to be a transformative aspect of her life. She has been studying and offering spiritual direction since 2020. Kristi holds an MA in Educational Ministries from Wheaton College\, a Graduate Certificate in Contemplative Spiritual Direction from Mount Saint Mary’s University\, a Certificate in Group Spiritual Direction from Stillpoint\, is a Facilitator in Training in The Compassion Practice with Beloved Compassion Network\, and is currently pursuing a Certificate from the Center for Engaged Compassion in Compassion-Based Spiritual Direction using Internal Family Systems. Kristi also provides retreat facilitation and contemplative practices. Kristi’s takes great joy in providing opportunities for people to deepen their connection with the Sacred.
