worship this Sunday…

As someone with more than a few pet peeves, I want to confide in you all about one of my biggest ones before Sunday.
Have you ever met someone multiple times, and every single time you see them, they ask your name again? You are forced to introduce yourself... AGAIN. You have to remind them who you are... AGAIN. And after a while, you start thinking, "Am I just one of those people who nobody remembers?"
Maybe that's just me.
There's something about not feeling known that can really do a number on our self-confidence.
But then there are other moments, the ones where all the attention is on us. Maybe people are singing "Happy Birthday," you're receiving an award, or you're asked to share a “fun” fact about yourself during some icebreaker. Suddenly, being seen feels pretty awkward and uncomfortable.
I find it funny that there is a part of us that deeply wants to be known while finding it wildly uncomfortable when we truly are.
This Sunday, we'll spend some time exploring what it means to be known by ourselves, by one another, and by God, and why that can be both deeply comforting and a little unsettling.
Looking forward to being together on Sunday!

Here are links to get familiar with the songs the band will be playing on Sunday. Please note, we often will change words to be more inclusive – so don’t get too attached to the lyrics. 🙂
