Supporting Desiree

Published: 09/09/2024

NHU has committed to being the lead advocate for Desiree (*pseudonym), a survivor of human trafficking who is starting her senior year at PLNU under the Beauty for Ashes Scholarship. As her lead advocate, we have set a goal of raising $1K toward her tuition needs, and we will be praying for her throughout her senior year as she prepares to graduate in the spring and launch her own business!

A few fun facts about Desiree:

  • She discovered her love of reading over the summer.
  • She is really looking forward to her honors research program this year.
  • A quote from Desiree about a barrier she has overcome: “When I lost my housing over the summer, I wasn’t sure if I could continue in my senior year. I also lost my car in an accident, further adding to my stress. Thankfully, with relentless advocacy from the CJR, I was able to secure safe housing and reliable transportation so that I could finish school and graduate next year!”

If you are in a position to give and want to support Desiree, you can give a gift by clicking below to help us meet our $1K goal. Select “Survivor Scholar Support” from the fund drop down menu.

See you in just a bit!

Kindly,
Rylie
