NHU has committed to being the lead advocate for Desiree (*pseudonym), a survivor of human trafficking who is starting her senior year at PLNU under the Beauty for Ashes Scholarship. As her lead advocate, we have set a goal of raising $1K toward her tuition needs, and we will be praying for her throughout her senior year as she prepares to graduate in the spring and launch her own business!
A few fun facts about Desiree:
- She discovered her love of reading over the summer.
- She is really looking forward to her honors research program this year.
- A quote from Desiree about a barrier she has overcome: âWhen I lost my housing over the summer, I wasnât sure if I could continue in my senior year. I also lost my car in an accident, further adding to my stress. Thankfully, with relentless advocacy from the CJR, I was able to secure safe housing and reliable transportation so that I could finish school and graduate next year!â
